Medical Tattooing

Specialised techniques are used to implant colour to camouflage and minimise scarring. An areola post breast reconstruction can be recreated by adding colour. This also applies to the scalp, face and body where colour is missing. Fantastic results and realistic visual improvements can be achieved with medical tatooing.

SEMI PERMANENT MAKE UP Q & A.

WHAT IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKE-UP?

It is a process whereby top quality iron-oxide pigments are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin, which can last 2 to 5 years.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The procedure of micro pigmentation is invasive, the skin is being broken therefore it is classed as a permanent treatment. However over time the pigment (which is very different from regular tattooing) is broken down by the body and fades away giving a semi permanent colour that needs to be topped up after 2-5 years.

WHY CANâ€™T YOU USE PERMANENT PIGMENT?

We do not use these pigments as people age their face shape changes eyebrows may become low and unshaped as facial features drop. By using the semi permanent pigments instead of having to keep to the original lines new ones can be created giving lift and more of a youthful look to the face. If you look at anyone with an old tattoo the colour changes over time and this would look unsightly on the face.

WHO HAS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKE UP?

The make up is good for anyone who does not want to wake up every morning and put on their make up. For people who wish to balance their or emphasise features. To regain a youthful appearance and frame the face. For people who live in sunny climates where make up tends to come off quicker due to the natural perspiration process. For people who suffer with Alopecia who want to create the appearance of hair.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE A TREATMENT?

You will need to allow 1 Â½ hours for your first procedure. If you intend to have a â€œfull faceâ€ (3 procedures together) then you should allow 2 Â½ hours in total. This allows for a thorough consultation treatment and refreshment after.

EYELINER

Semi permanent eye enhancement can create a defined liner along the top and bottom lids, or create a subtle effect to flatter your natural lash line.

Eyeliner can dramatically define your eyes. Imagine, no more â€œpanda eyesâ€!

LIPS

Beautiful, sensual lips are created by adding natural colour where needed, achieving instant fullness and definition. Subtle corrections can be made to thin, uneven or unsymmetrical lips and the size and shape can be altered as desired. Facial lines around the mouth are instantly camouflaged and lipstick bleed is eliminated.

Lip enhancements are a wonderful way of subtly replacing lost pigment especially to the outer border of the lips where it most commonly fades as we age. The technique of blending the pigment with the natural colour of the lip ensures no harsh out lines.

DOES IT HURT?

Some clients feel no discomfort at all - others feel minimal discomfort. Everybodyâ€™s pain tolerance is different. Points to consider are if you are tired, stressed, due your menstrual cycle. You can take a pain killer prior to treatment just make sure it does not contain aspirin or ibuprofen. We use topical anaesthetics to minimise discomfort.

DO YOU USE CLEAN NEEDELES?

Every Client has a new needle. At the beginning of the treatment you can observe the needles being taken out of a sterile pre-packed casing. On completion of treatment the needles are placed into a sharps box and then disposed of correctly.

ARE THERE ANY RISKS?

At your first appointment you will be taken through a health questionnaire to make sure you have no contraindications that would prevent me from carrying out the treatment, and a patch test would be given to make sure you have no allergy to the products used. The equipment and room is clean and sterile, with health and safety regulations strictly adhered to.

CAN IT GO WRONG?

Before any work begins a through consultation will be provided in which each subject will be discussed in full, colour, shape, suitability of face/body, and realistic expectations. Then a guideline will be drawn on to determine exact shape, and when we are both satisfied with the look we can proceed.

WILL I BE ABLE TO GO OUT WITHOUT EVERYONE NOTICING?

After a procedure the colour implanted will be darker, more intense. This will last for a few days until the area exfoliates and the true colour emerges. Generally it is only you who notices the darker colour. If anaesthetic is used you may swell slightly and have a reddening of the area - this will go down usually by the end of the day. It is suggested that if you are having an eyeliner procedure that you bring a pair of dark glasses with you (as you may look as if you have been crying). A little inconvenient â€“ but the long terms results are well worth it.

WHAT ABOUT AFTER-CARE?

You will be given a comprehensive after care guide after the treatment, along with verbal instructions and relevant after-care products.
